Golf is the only sport to have been played on the Moon

During the Apollo 14 mission in February 1971, astronaut Alan Shepard smuggled a 6-iron club head onto the spacecraft and attached it to a sample-collector rod. He hit two golf balls on the lunar surface — the second, he said, went 'miles and miles and miles'. The Moon's gravity is 1/6 of Earth's, so even a poor shot travels extraordinary distances.
