There Are More Trees on Earth Than Stars in the Milky Way
Earth has approximately 3 trillion trees — around 400 times the estimated number of stars in the Milky Way galaxy (~200–400 billion). A 2015 study in Nature used satellite imaging and ground surveys to arrive at this figure. Despite the number, tree cover has dropped by roughly 46% since the start of human civilisation.
