The Voyager 1 Probe Is the Furthest Human-Made Object

Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 crossed into interstellar space in 2012 and is currently over 24 billion kilometres from Earth — the farthest any human-made object has ever travelled. It still communicates with Earth via a 22.4-watt radio transmitter, about the power of a refrigerator light bulb. Signals from Voyager 1 now take over 22 hours to reach Earth at the speed of light.
