There Are More Stars in the Universe Than Grains of Sand on Earth

Estimates put the number of stars in the observable universe at around 1 septillion (10²⁴) — roughly 10 times more than all the grains of sand on Earth's beaches and deserts combined (~7.5 × 10¹⁸). Each of those stars is potentially orbited by planets. The sheer scale of the universe makes the question of extraterrestrial life more a matter of statistics than speculation.
