The Great Fire of London Only Killed Six People

The Great Fire of London in 1666 destroyed over 13,000 homes and 87 churches — yet the official death toll was just six people. Historians believe the actual number was higher, as poor Londoners who perished left no records. The fire did, however, inadvertently end the bubonic plague in London by destroying the rat-infested slums.
